The Announcement

The Location

Formerly a 600 acre logging camp and then a commercial trout farm, Mendocino Magic has historically provided employment to a large part of the local community. As the commercial logging and fishing industries faded from prominence, the land has transitioned to becoming a recreational destination for those seeking connection with the outdoors. Home to some of the best stargazing in Northern California, Mendocino Magic also features the pristine Holland Reservoir- the largest private water holding in the North Coast region. Miles of trails wind throughout mountainous hillsides and scenic valleys.

ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS
Getting to Mendocino Magic is very easy! It is located 3.5 miles off the 101 in Laytonville.

Laytonville is a small town with about 1,500 residents and limited services. Please be kind to the neighbors by obeying all speed limits and tipping generously.

Pre-Wedding Weekend

Sweat, Laughs & Love at Mendo Magic!

Friday, March 28 - Sunday, March 30

Forget the traditional bachelor/bachelorette parties—we’re doing things our way. Instead of a night out, we’re inviting you to Mendo Magic for a pre-wedding weekend of fun, community, and a little hands-on magic.

We’ll be getting our hands dirty (in the best way) as part of our Sweat Equity Project, making meaningful improvements to the land that will host our wedding. Over the weekend, we’ll be:

🌱 Revitalizing two gardens

💦 Installing irrigation (hydration = happy plants!)

🛠 Building planting beds

🌾 Weeding & general beautification

But don’t worry—it won’t be all work! There will be good food, great company, music, and plenty of time to relax and soak up the Mendocino magic. Think of it as a camp-style hangout with a purpose—pitch in during the day, then unwind together in the evenings.

Whether you love getting your hands dirty or just want to cheer us on from the sidelines with a drink in hand, we’d love to have you there. Come ready to contribute, connect, and celebrate with us! ❤️

🌟 Welcome to Our Wedding Weekend at Mendo Magic! 🌟

Friday, May 16 - Sunday, May 18

We are beyond excited to celebrate with you! Our wedding isn’t just a single day—it’s a whole weekend of love, community, and unforgettable moments. Below is the itinerary so you know what’s happening and when.

🛬 Friday: Welcome & BBQ Feast

Arrive anytime! ✨ Settle in, explore the beauty of Mendo Magic, and get to know fellow guests.

🔥 Friday Night BBQ (Sunset) – We’re kicking things off with ribs, tri-tip, chicken, and my legendary mac & cheese, plus other delicious sides. We’ll be using Grandpa Bill’s No Recipe Foods spices to make it extra special. Bring your appetite and let’s feast!

🍺 Drinks: We’ll have beer provided for the BBQ, but if you’d like to contribute to the fun, we’re asking guests to bring a bottle of liquor to share (either Friday or Saturday) to help fill out the bar.

🌞 Saturday: Community & Celebration

🍳 Morning Brunch (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM) – Fuel up with a breakfast burrito bar, French toast, and more before the festivities begin.

🥂 Drinks: We’ll have champagne for mimosas—because brunch without mimosas is just breakfast.

🎭 Wedding Setup Party (12:00 PM - 2:00 PM) – This is where the magic happens! Help us bring our vision to life by joining one of these fun prep teams:

🌿 Ceremony Crew: Setting up at Methuselah’s Observatory

🍽 Dinner Team: Transforming Central Camp for our reception

🎉 After-Party Squad: Getting Loggers Camp ready for late-night fun

💐 Floral & Decor Artists: Arranging bouquets, centerpieces & wedding decor

Totally optional, but if you love getting creative, we’d love your help!

🎈 Free Time (2:00 PM - 5:30 PM) – Relax, explore, nap, or just soak in the Mendocino vibes before the big event.

🥂 Pre-Ceremony Drinks & Appetizers (5:30 PM) – Join us at Methuselah’s Observatory for a toast before we say “I do!”

💍 The Ceremony (6:30 PM) – A golden-hour moment as we exchange vows surrounded by nature & love.

🍷 Dinner Reception (7:00 PM - 9:00 PM) – Back to Central Camp for a family-style meal, laughter, and all the good stuff.

🍷 Drinks: We’ll be providing beer and wine for dinner, but again, if you’d like to bring a bottle of liquor to share, we’d love to add it to the bar!

🔥 After-Party (9:00 PM Onward!) – The night is young! Meet us at Loggers Camp for music, dancing, and fireside fun.

☀️ Sunday: Farewell Breakfast & Goodbyes

🥐 Light Breakfast (8:00 AM - 10:00 AM) – Swing by Central Camp for pastries, juice, and one last hang before you head out.

✨ Additional Info & Ways to Help

🎽 Attire: There’s no dress code—wear whatever makes you happy! Just keep in mind that there is a 15-20 minute walk on a dirt path to get to the ceremony, so wear appropriate shoes.

🍽 What to Bring: Its important that we Leave No Trace, so please bring your own plates, bowls, silverware, and cups for meals.

🛠 Ways to Help: If you’d like to pitch in, we’re organizing teams to keep things running smoothly over the weekend. If one of these sounds like your jam, let us know!

• Gate: Greeters & check-in team, also serve as preliminary security.

• Placement: Parking lot, campground site guides, RV lot assistance.

• LNT (Leave No Trace): Waste sorting, recycling, dump runs, strike before departure.

• Kitchen: Cooking rules, ice management, appliance overview, cleanup.

• Bar: Bar setup, bartending, ice stocking.

• Sound: Audio setup, power management, decibels, transport if needed.

• Build & Strike: Setup & takedown crews for various spaces.

• Advance Comms: Pre-event communications & coordination.
